Did God Create Satan?
Answer – Hindus do not believe that God created Satan as a personified being. Our Shastras or scriptures say that God created living things in the water, living things that creep, plants, birds, animals, men and angels. The archangel who later become the so-called Satan was a member of the eighth order of the nine ranks of heavenly beings. He was given the power to oversee creation in the world according to Gods plan. After he had completed his assignment, he was to go back to God, as God intended all creation to return to Him. But if this intelligence power personified in the scriptures as Satan were to retire into the Absolute God, creation would dissolve and disappear. Since dissolution in that way will affect his will, Satan did not turn back to God to report that he had completed his duty. This archangel was to work without desire and live in this world without attachment, but, he was soon caught by desire or attachment. God gave the Archangel work to do in the world. It means God
