Did mary and joseph stay together after jesus died and did they have any more children?
It is WIDELY thought that Joseph died BEFORE Jesus. Were he still living, the interchange recorded in John 19:26-27 would have been quite unusual. It was Jesus as the eldest son to whom the care of his widowed mother first passed. On his death, he entrusted that care to his friend (possibly cousin) John. Jesus’ other earthly family members are mentioned a handful of times, probably most notably at the synagogue in Nazareth: Mark 6:1 Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown. 2 The next Sabbath he began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. They asked, “Where did he get all this wisdom and the power to perform such miracles?” 3 Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon.
