Answer Hi Paul Paul Simon wrote the song in 67. Originally it was just a chorus used in the film The Graduate and before that had started out as “Here’s to you Mrs Roosevelt”. Paul didn’t think it would make a full song but was persuaded by Art and others to finish it. An enormous hit! Paul Simon wrote almost all of the songs that S&G recorded. Art’s only credit is for the counter melody in Scarborough Fair. Let me know if I can help any time.
