Did the Ancient Egyptians perform autopsies?
I don’t know if they performed autopsies. But with their extensive embalming practices they learnt alot about the human body and the priest may have been able to tell what the person died from. Ancient Egyptians believed that illness was caused by hostile powers and would use a mixture of herbs, purification rites and magic spells to ‘cure’ the patient.
