Did the Krays get heavy?
They were clear and polite. It was all honour-bound. No swearing. Their reputation was such that if people said, I will call the Krays,’ people were afraid. If anyone said or was even rumoured to have said one was queer, which he was, their life was in danger. The funny thing was I wanted to paint one of the twins and the other said no.
