4th Of July 230 years ago a small group of men got together and signed a marvelous document. They were protesting among other things the onerous taxation of the British gummint. What do you think they would say about the level of taxation today? The top one percent of wage earners pay over one third of the taxes and the Dimocrats think those people are under taxed. What do you think John Adams of Massachusetts would think of his state becoming Taxachusetts and sending statesmen like Ted Swimmer Kennedy, John Flipper Kerry and Barney Frank to Congress? What do you think George Washington and the troops who wintered at Valley Forge would think about John Murtha and the rest of the cut and run crowd? What do you think Thomas Jefferson would think about Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer? These men who signed the Declaration of Independence risked everything and many of them were ruined by the Revolutionary War and died penniless. They did this to form a new independent nation.
