Having done some study of Russia and the Soviet Union, you have to approach every question knowing that we don’t know a whole lot regarding the nation. What I can tell you is that Russia attempted to take over the entirety of that region and failed. I believe it was Sweden that prevented Russia’s expansion. At that point and time Sweden was the Kingdom of Sweden and pretty powerful although it rapidly declined following the successful defensive. WW2 Russia was of course communist USSR and under the control of Stalin. While Lenin, the father of Russian Communism, was a strong advocate of spreading the Communist revolutions, Stalin was much more ruthless. Still, I do not believe they actually bombed Sweden during WW2. Russia really didn’t have the aircraft to do bombings like Germany, Great Britain and the US did. A regular occurence in the Russian army was that 1,000 soldiers would be sent into battle with 250 weapons and told to pick up a weapon from a fallen comrade. Russia really did
