Do all languages employ punctuation marks?

Nope. And, actually, you didn’t find a great deal of punctuation in English until the printing press made punctuation more standardized. For centuries, punctuation was really only used to help people read something out loud–it didn’t differentiate meanings or serve any grammatical purpose as it does today (your vs. you’re, for example). But I can’t think of any modern language that employs no punctuation of any form at all. You do, however, find poetry without punctuation in at least a few modern languages. I’ll look forward to other ideas about this…
