Do all players play? Is there a minimum participation rule?

0

At the younger divisions, our teams institute a Mandatory Play Rule (MPR) based on team size. These are the number of plays that each player must participate per game. At the 9-10 age division, each player is to participate in at least 12 plays per game, and 3 plays per quarter. We track this and do the best we can to ensure participation through out the game, playing in all four quarters. At the 7-8 age division, our teams institute a Maximum Play Rule, to encourage players to participate as much as possible. MaxPR does not mean equal play. It is intended to allow players to substitute frequently, playing on the field as much as possible, and still field a competitive team. At the older divisions, play time does not follow an MPR guideline and player participation is up to the coaches.
