Do any health insurance companies cover elective procedures?

Yes. My health insurance provider, Definity Health, has a plan that allows you to be reimbursed for certain elective procedures of your choice up to a certain amount (1500 dollars for my family) We’ve used this for alternative health care like NUCCA chiropractic, and you can use it for other such things like acupuncture. The catch is, all health care procedures are paid for out of this section of the account first, so that if I go to a regular doctor it gets taken out of the 1500. So all approved medical procedures (that’s most) up to 1500 are paid for by the insurance company. After $1500, I have a $1500 deductible that I have to cover out of pocket, no reimbursement. After that it’s a percentage with copays. I can still get the chiropractic or acupuncture care I want with this section of the plan, all things in-network for 80 or 90% (can’t remember which), and 70% for out-of-network doctors. Happy insurance hunting.
