Do any United Way funded programs perform abortions?
No. Abortion is not funded through United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. For the 2005-2006 period, dollars invested by United Way to Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee will be used strictly for one teen prevention program: “PG-13 Players.” Stringent accounting methods ensure the funds are used solely for this program. Abortion services rely totally on patient fees for revenue. They are 100 percent self-supporting. Consequently, these services would not be affected if United Way withdrew its funding. The 2006-2007 total funding for this program is $7,378.
