Do believe a victim should be punished if they use FATAL means against an abusive spouse?
Answer Dear Chey, Hello and thank you for taking the time to choose me to help you with your issues. Let me first say that I apologize for not getting back with you sooner; I have been extremely busy, so please blame my head and not my heart. Well Chey, you posed a very intriguing question to me. When it comes to using fatal means against a spouse or partner to the effects of domestic violence, I believe that as long as it was self-defense when the act of violence took place, the victim should NOT be punished. There is a big difference between defending yourself and planning or carrying out murder. I learned when I took intro to criminal justice that if woman, for example, waits until her partner goes to sleep to kill him, then she is committing murder one and will more than likely spend the rest of her life in prison. Now if the victim is defending herself while her partner is beating on her, then yes, that is self-defense, but she would have to submit evidence and testimony in order
