Do “black” people feel obligated to vote for Barack Obama?

I only feel “obligated” to vote for the best candidate. Hillary ran off most of her black supporters with her race baiting and lies.

They don’t feel obligated. It is their choice to support him or not. Just like women don’t feel obligated to vote for Hillary.

I don`t think that they are all voting for him, I know many black people and about 1/2 are voting for him, the others say they will vote for Hillary.

I think there is some subtle and not-so-subtle pressure to do so. I think Blacks wrongly believe that because Obama is Black, he identifies with them and their problems. I disagree. Both he and his wife grew up in very affluent families, he traveled the world as a youth, both attended very prestigious colleges and are in the top 1% of wage earners in this country. They are as displaced from the working and non-working Black as any White politician.

No, I’m a reformed Clintonite. HAHA My mother is voting for Clinton, my father for Obama. Of my siblings, 2 for Obama, one for Clinton & one for McCain (Has been disowned). I feel obligated to vote for the person whose veiws mosrt closely match my own. And regarding the statistics, Obama’s big jump in the black votes happens right after Bill Clinton’s remarks in S. Carolina. To Clear up some things: – I switched to Obama after using an Issues Matrix on CNN.com. I realzied I had more in common with him. I read his DETAILED ‘Blueprint for Change’, watched old speeches on Youtube, read artciles on him (pos & neg). THEN I switched, not because he’s black or a great orator. – 90% of Blacks voting for Obama, that only happened in Miss – He and his wife both grew up in lower-middle class famalies and used scholarships and student loans to pay for Harvard. – He is FAR from the top 1% wage earners in the US. They would be if they had stayed in their law firm jobs instead of going to the private
