Do black rat snakes eat baby rabbits?

Rat snakes are fast but harmless. If it fits in a nest it can’t be too big. I would assume the eggs are gone since that is why the snake is in the next. They like eggs and newborn anything. They usually eat what they kill and would only leave a dead rabbit if it was spooked by something. My guess is a cat since their bite is small and they carry a baby rabbit around and drop it when they tire of the game. The snake will stiffin when you try to pick it up and will be hard to get out of the nest without tearing it up. Use a glove and hold the neck a few inches behind the head to see if it will slither out between your fingers. Relocate the snake because they do serve a purpose in the food chain.
