Do chickens attract rats even if kept clean?

I work for an exterminator and I can tell you – yes – chickens attract rats. You need to keep the food in tightly sealed plastic bins. You need to clean up poop and collect eggs every day. They need to be penned so they don’t wander away and poop/lay eggs where you can’t reach them. If you have just a few chickens, it will be fine. If you branch out to many chickens, it gets harder to keep it as clean as needed to keep rats at bay.
