Do chimpanzees age at the same rate as humans?

In a way. I’ve always hated the “a year of our time is like ___ of their time” because it isn’t really all that illustrative of the animal’s life and span. Chimpanzees in captivity can live into their 60s. Their teen years are much like ours, rebellious and cocky and they are all know-it-alls. They sexually mature a little faster than humans (though that may be changing…example, the average age of the start of menstruation is earlier now than it was years ago. Chimp females start menstruation around 10 to 12 years old) In the wild, their life span is shorter due to injury, lesser nutrition, disease, etc. I do know there is a case of one wild chimp living to be 63, but most are dead by their 40s to 50s.
