Facial oils, also sometimes called facial serums, are becoming very popular due to their emollient properties and the purity of their ingredients. They can be used on oily or dry skin depending on the formulation-some are cleansing and purifying and others are moisturizing and regenerating. If you have oily skin, using a facial oil follows the principles of "like treats like"-meaning that applying a light facial oil will actually balance the oil production of your skin and not enhance it. Clogged pores should not be a problem unless you use a heavy oil as base and apply moisturizer or foundation over it. Good facial oils for combination or oily skin include hazelnut oil, which cleanses the skin, and jojoba oil, which is very light and resembles the skin's own natural sebum.
