Freescale has no knowledge that metals in our products are being sourced or exported from the DRC. We provide no guarantee about the mines from which the various metal ores have been sourced or exported. The electronics supply chain is complex. Furthermore, the US Government has not provided regulations or guidance on the due diligence processes to identify conflict mines or to confirm the sources of metals throughout the supply chain. Freescale is monitoring the implementation of Section 1502 of US HR 4173 (2010 Financial Reform Bill). The 21-Jul-2010 Bill requires the US State Department to provide a map of Conflict Zone Mines by 22-Jan-2011. It also requires the SEC to promulgate supporting regulations by no later than 22-Apr-2011. Upon receipt of these materials, we intend to develop due diligence efforts to comply with these regulations. See Freescales conflict metal statement.
