Do Great Pyrenees puppies have black noses at birth?
First, thanks to all that respond! I am looking at a pup on Petfinder.com that is listed as a Great Pyrenees. The little guy (and his brothers) has a pink nose with some black speckles on it. Dumb question, but will nose color change with age? I’m fine with a mix, but I don’t want, for example, another breed mixed in that may be of the aggressive type. It can take up to 10 weeks for the lips/nose to turn completely black, but in most cases that pigment is there by 6 weeks old. If you’re not wanting a show quality puppy, I wouldn’t be too concerned with the nose pigment, but obviously you need to feel able to trust the breeder that you buy a puppy from.
