Do hermit crabs pinch humans very often?

That’s a good question and I’ll try to answer it the best I can. The answer is yes and no. I’ll explain. Sometimes hermit crabs are roughly handled from the time they leave the ocean until they get into the pet store. Even then you don’t know if someone’s held it and dropped it. They also have different personalities just like any other living creature and you can have some that are aggressive and some that aren’t. It’s always important that before you buy a hermit crab that you watch it. Pick it up very gently and with one palm perfectly flat put it on your palm. That way it won’t have anything to grab and pinch but it also won’t have to hold itself in it’s shell mid air. That will freak them out and make them want to pinch. It’s important that you hold them gently and not let them fall or get close to falling. When I’ve been pinched it’s always because they’re about to fall off my hand and they grab on to keep from falling aka pinch the living heck out of me. They really aren’t mean
