Parents are legally allowed to issue a high school diploma to their home schooler upon completion of their graduation requirements. It is worth as much as a public school diploma, but neither is worth the paper it’s printed on. When you are home schooled, universities do not want to see a diploma. They want to see a TRANSCRIPT (also prepared by the person homeschooling you, parent or otherwise), and SAT or ACT scores.
