Do I have a Dynamic or Static ip?

You can’t get a dynamic IP address if you ISP gave you a static IP address. check this http://www.myiptest.com/article.php/how-…

It depends on your ISP however, from the information given and the fact tht you don’t know, I will assume you have a dynamic IP address from your ISP. Most ISP’s use Dynamic as it’s cheaper for them thus cheaper for you. And there’s good and bad points of both static v dynamic. If you want me to go into the pro’s and cons let me know.

When you look at “wireless internet connection”, that IP address is the address for your wireless connection, not your Internet connection. When you go to WhatIsMyIPAddress.com, that is your Internet IP address and is the one that identifies your computer on the Internet. Most Internet accounts use a Dynamic IP. You would have to call your Internet Service Provider (DSL, cable, etc.) to find out for sure if your account is using Static or Dynamic IP.

Actually on any network system there are two IP’s. When your computer gets a DHCP address from a wireless accesspoint it will be a LAN (local area network) IP in nearly every case. When you go to whatismyip or any other IP test syste you see the WAN or wide area address (internet address) which is assigned to the ROUTER/Access point!) Thus these will be two different IP’s!
