Do I have to replace the whole windscreen wiper if the spring has broken?

My boyfriend recently advised me to change my windscreen wipers because one fell out and the other was old. I tried to save some money and just bought the rubber bits for a peugot, cost me 6/7 quid. . .It’s only now in the rubbish weather that we’ve realised they are rubbish and i should have just replaced the arm, about 12 quid each but would have last a good while. You shouldnt need to take it to the garage just get yourself down to Halfords, they’ve got charts for every car, dead easy to work out what you need and get advice. .
