ViaCLIX convergent client platform is designed to run on today’s state-of-the-art Set-Top Boxes using cutting edge x86 CPUs with graphics capability that can display up to 1080p video flawlessly. This means using x86 CPUS which are designed for consumer electronics, such as AMD 780 chipset The ViaCLIX STB also includes many of the connectors on the back which are optimized for television and consumer electronics (versus PC type of interfaces). The bottom line is that the ViaCLIX convergent client can run on any STB that has an x86 CPU and enough memory and graphics to play 1080p video flawlessly. We believe that the ViaCLIX STB is a great example and model for an x86 based Set-Top Box.
