Do I need tahini for Hummus?

0

Hummus has some integral ingredients, sesame paste, or tahini is one of them. You could grind your own sesame seeds into a paste, if you can’t find tahini (if your regular grocery store doesn’t keep it in the peanut butter section, along with almond butter and cashew butter and alternatives like that, it will be in the ethnic section. Or try your local health food store. If you make hummus without it, you’re not really making hummus. I would wait until you find it. I mean it’s not like you’re making vegetable soup, which really can comprise of any vegetables you want, and have noodles, or rice, or potatoes, or chicken, or other things in it as well. Something like hummus isn’t ‘true’ if it’s not made right.
