Do I need to buy an expensive DVD player in order to playback Video CDs?

No. There are many good DVD players with Video CD playback capabilities which sell for well under $300. As a matter of company policy, we intentionally perform most of our testing on the lowest priced DVD players we can find. We’ve tested over 50 models of low priced DVD players that advertise Video CD capabilities. All of them were capable of playing back either one of our Level 1 or Level 2 Video CDs. Most players were compatible with either Level 1 or Level 2 disc; some could play both. We have not yet found a single DVD player (with Video CD capabilities) that was incompatible to both formats. But keep in mind, there are a view DVD players which do not include Video CD capabilities. As to be expected, these do not recognize the Video CD format.

*Sadly, we had to bring back ads too. Hopefully more targeted.
