Do Indoor Smoking Bans Increase Outdoor Secondhand Smoke?
This article focuses on a study conducted to investigate the health hazard of secondhand smoke from smokers clustered outside establishments in Athens, Greece. Results revealed that a rise in the pollutants was associated with an increase in the number of smokers, and not with motor vehicle traffic. An overview of the study population and methodology is presented. Comments from lead researcher Luke Naeher are given.
