Actually, yes. In fact, JWs still share some beliefs with Adventists, including hell (the grave) and the soul (a life, not immortal), that are different from “mainstream” Christianity. I read one of their brochures once, and I recall there being some similarities in beliefs. To the best of my recollection, these two were the main ones. My memory might be fuzzy, though! One big difference I recall is that Adventists believe that Jesus is God whereas JWs do not. Oh yeah- not to mention that the JW “autobiography”, the “Proclaimers” book, admits that Russell had roots ion Adventism. Quote from Russell himself; Proclaimers chapter 5 p 43-44 “Seemingly by accident, one evening I dropped into a dusty, dingy hall, where I had heard religious services were held, to see if the handful who met there had anything more sensible to offer than the creeds of the great churches.
