Do Lebanese speak Arabic or Lebanese?
Lebanese use Lebanese language in their daily life. French and English terms and phrases are widely used especially for Salutation and technical subjects. However, Arabic phrases maybe used in a Lebanese conversation to add rhetoric expressions. More than 90% of the songs & plays produced in Lebanon are in Lebanese. If you watch a Lebanese TV station, most programs would be broadcasted in Lebanese except for news bulletins, that are read in Arabic. Arabic is a formal language, it’s not regularly spoken in Lebanon (nor at the rest of the Arab states). Arabic is the official language of Lebanon; it is used mainly in courts, publishing, formal speeches and praying.
