Do molten salt/sugar conduct electricity?

0

NaCl conducts electricity because it is an ionic compound and ions form when dissolved in water (which allows a current to be passed through) but dextrose sugar is an organic compound which does not form ions when dissolved in water so does not conduct electricity.

Molten NaCl can conduct electricity, but I am not sure about molten sugar. Hope this helps!
