That said, for the most efficient results, you do have to follow directions. I was unable to get mine placed in what would have been the best position last year — I have a Mosquito Magnet — and have noticed a huge change in efficiency this year since clearing that area and being able to sit it in the proper area. Gotta admit, too, that I figured it was a crock. Made no sense that a mere machine hooked to a propane tank would make a dent in Alaska’s ravenous mosquitoes, but it does. I’m not familiar with the SkeeterVac, tho’ seems like someone I know has one, not sure, but can vouch for the Mosquito Magnet. Positioning, as noted, is important, but you need to get it set up and running early in the season for the best results. Then make sure you change the “bait” at about three week intervals and keep your propane tank full. I’ve gone to two tanks, so the switcheroo is simple and fast nowadays.
