Do multifunction devices work as well as single function ones?

Given the size many electronic devices have become and many of the improving standards in uniform connectivity, I would say overall that a lot of multifunction devices make sense. There are some drawbacks, and obviously some combined functions that perhaps never should have been — but I think it’s getting better. Older negative — I was never fond of the TV/VCR combination because for a long while you could expect the TV component to last longer then the VCR. What would you want to do with the whole thing when one device has blown, and the other remains. Maybe just an issue in my uptight mind. New positives — My Blackberry PDA/Cell Phone. Very nice to enter all my contact information in Outlook, have it in sync with my Blackberry automatically, and then have all the caller information pop to the screen tied to the caller ID. Customers call and all the information is immediately there. If I have notes following the call they can be entered on the Blackberry and leter when I sync again
