Do people draw in colour or black and white?
Hello, I am a BA (Hons) Fine art:painting and drawing student,I am a portrait/figurative artist but I like sketching and drawing try looking at David Hockney’s drawings and sketches in colour, they are mostly consist of people,but then it will help you to see that you dont have to draw in pencil or graphite but just normal coluring pencils. Do you know that when I paint on a canvas I dont draw on the canvas in pancil or paint the outlines in grey but I paint the outline in the closet colour I can see that is close to the subject, the most dominant colour that is before me, have a look at David Hockney. ( nice sharp colouring pencils will do the trick you can even draw in pastels or chalks, does it have to be pencil or graphite) Hope this helps I am an artist myself and I am going to be a part time art teacher after my studies. give it a go : ) let me know what you think.
