Do people really eat “chitlins?”?

They are actually called chitterlings. Yes people eat them, people eat everything. They are more popular in the southern US. They are not always fried, many people also eat them boiled and cut into bite sized pieces. They have a flavor similar to a fatty piece of pork and are supposed to be VERY well cleaned before use because of the things that can be found inside. They do have a strong scent; unpleasant to some, but they don’t/shouldn’t smell of feces.
