Do police radar detectors really work?

You would be much better off with a GPS detector… the price will be a lot more, but to be honest, the radar detectors are not worth the money. To Alan j UK, you sir are a twit Many speed traps are simply revenue raising devices. It is not ‘cheating’ to be aware of speed traps, it is good sense and sometimes neccesary, as the speed limits dont always relate to the actual condition/location of the road. – case in point – the A12 extension between leytonstone and stratford. Several Speed cameras were in place before the road was even opened to traffic and the limit is variable along this stretch of road (some 40 MPH, some 50MPH) without any apparent regard to road location, conditions, etc.
