Do producers get all the gross profit from film?

No Every film is different but lots of people involved in the film will share the profits depending on the contract they agreed to. I can’t remember which actor it was (either Harrison Ford or Alec Guinness I think) but they agreed to 1% of all the profits to Star Wars… a wise decision that proved to be. Obviously if you agree to a profit share you need to make sure the film is a success to get paid. On the flip side I remember hearing Mark Addy from the Full Monty agreed to be paid a one off fee for the film and no profit share. As this was a low budget British film that seemed a good idea. Unfortunately the film went on to be a huge worldwide success getting Oscar nominations and making $230 million profit.
