Do shooting stars exist?

0

Of course it exists. These amazing streaks of light or a shooting stars you can sometimes see in the night sky are caused by tiny bits of dust and rock called meteoroids falling into the Earth’s atmosphere and burning up. Unfortunately, this streaks of light is only short-live because upon entering our atmosphere it will disintegrate into much more smaller pieces. If any part of the meteoroid survives burning up and actually hits the Earth, that remaining bit is then called a meteorite. So, for some enthusiasts to encounter another shooting star (which is not actually a star), they have to stare in the clear night sky (no pollution or city lights) where all can see so many stars and patiently wait for these amazing pieces of debris to show up. For your info: There will be a meteor shower on August 12, October 21, November 17/18, December 13/14, 2009 in a clear night sky!
