Do Sphynx require special care?
Yes. Sphynx will require bathing, ear cleaning, toe and eye cleaning and of course lots of warm places to snuggle. Depending on your cat, bathing may be as frequent as weekly or as seldom as monthly. Sphynx produce body oil – like all animals – but they have no hair to absorb it or disperse it. They get kind of grimy and gunky if you don’t wash it off. We use baby body wash, or a mild body wash on all our girls. We do ear cleaning at the same time with Q-tips and Pet Ear Wash (there are several brands available). Baby wipes work great on toe nails and a warm wash rag without soap works great on their eyes.
