Do squirrels hibernate during the winter and for which months?
Squirrels in the UK don’t hibernate, they have to feed regularly, and often take nuts and seed from bird tables. You could have squirrels in your loft, but more probably they are mice you are hearing. As the weather gets colder, they come indoors to try and find a warm place for winter. I live on a a farm and have noticed in the last few weeks, a lot more activity in our attics! We do put poison out, but if they die indoors the smell is definitley not nice. If you have concerns, set traps or contact pest control at your local council.
