Do Sulfites Cause Headaches?
Some people complain about getting headaches from wine. Well it could be the sulfites in the wine, the amount consumed, or another chemical or environmental variable. But more to the point of sulfites possible causing headaches. Sulfite levels are high in white wines, and lower in red wines. If you get headaches from white wines only, it might be the sulfites. If it really is the sulfites, you might have to cut back on your white wine drinking or switch to low-sulfite styles. American wines list the contains sulfites disclaimer because of regulation in the United States.
