Do Super Delegates Have Super Powers?

They don’t possess superpowers—at least I am not aware of any possessing super powers—but they do have the potential in this race to swoop in like a super hero and save the candidacy of one of the Democrats. “Super delegate” is a term used by the media and others to refer to a high-ranking party official or leader that is seated at the convention without regard to primaries or caucuses. Super delegates are different from delegates because the super delegates are seated solely because of their position within the party. Super delegates include congressional members, key party officials, governors etc. The number of super delegates per state varies. The interesting part (or most disconcerting part depending on your point of view) is that each state’s super delegates are not required to support a candidate based on how their state voted in contrast to pledged delegates, who are divided based on state results. They can pledge their alle
