According to the National Sleep Foundation, not only do teenagers perform better in school with extra sleep, but they also tend to have higher concentration skills and a lower incidence of depression and mood swings.

Yes Teenagers and adults perform better on the job and in school. Their are some interesting studies that prove that getting more sleep will improve your grades and overall health. There are even some schools that did a experiment by starting school at 9:00 a.m appose to 8:00 a.m.. The results of just getting one hour of sleep per night were astonishing. Grades improved overall and test scores rose, and less kids dropped out of school. Sleep deprivation is a serious nationwide problem. Studies have shown that the body needs sleep just like food, and we also “learn in our sleep.” Quality sleep is also another issue. The National Sleep foundation recommends that you keep a sleep journal. If you have sleep problems it should be discussed with your Doctor. Personally I have sleep apnea. Most people don’t know this but sleep apnea is as common as diabetes.

I think more sleep would be better than less sleep! I’m guessing that teenagers are sleep deprived in general. I don’t think it helps anyone’s performance to be tired.
