Do televisions and CRT monitors emit gamma rays?

0

No. TV’s and CRT Monitors are nothing more than Cathode Ray Tubes which are similar to flouroscopes used in old-fashioned x-ray machines. In reality, the CRT is an exray tube which throws electrons up against a flourescent or phosflourescent coated piece of glass inside a vacuum tube. In fact, the CRT monitor IS a vacuum tube. I digress though. Gamma correction is not gamma ray. Its an engineering regimen used to code and then decode luminescent and/or tri stimulus values in images. At root it is a system of manipulating video images in a way so that instead of having asymmetrical wave forms, you have symettrical wave forms by correcting the difference in values.
