Do these credit card companies accept settlements?
Credit card companies will only accept settlements if you have defaulted on your cards. If they offered settlements to people who were current, then everyone would be calling up for a 50% settlement. If you are current, the only way to get into a position to negotiate settlements is to deliberately let your accounts default/charge-off (this is exactly what debt settlement firms do). It is “common” for credit card firms to accept settlements in lieu of loosing everything if you file for BK…However, you can never predict how any creditor will respond if you deliberately let your account charge-off…They might serve you a summons and take you to court. CapOne (in your list) is a very aggressive creditor and will probably take this action. If you have already defaulted on these cards, make an offer of 50%.
