Do we have any effective defence against asteroids on a collision course with Earth?
Asteriods hit earth everyday and our big defence the atmosphere deals with then very efffectively. Larger ones break through fairly regularly but mostly land in the sea or aren’t large enough to cause serious damage. Of course against the big ones we don’t have much of a defence save for nuclear missiles, that and the dedicated people watching and plotting all near earth objects to give us as much warning as possible.
