First of all there is no way that you have a wild cottontail as a pet that is over 2 years old. A cottontail’s life span is 2 years max and most don’t live that long because they are easy prey and fall victim to other issues such as road kill. Before you ask questions you may want to do your research so that you at least sound somewhat Intelligent. In the event that your rabbit is a domesticated rabbit and perhaps just the color of a cottontail such as a castor mini rex then no I would not go search for pine cones. They can have sap on them which can be toxic. Try giving your rabbit as much hay as it can eat and even untreated pine wood blocks will do the trick. EDIT: Please read this article, pay close attention to the part about wild cottontails kept as pets: http://quadrupeds.suite101.com/article.c… After reading this I would strongly suggest that you find a new vet.
