Do wind turbines interfere with radio/TV signals?

0

Inappropriately located turbines can disrupt TV signals. It is a fundamental part of Ecotricity’s site selection process to minimise the risk that TV signals in the locality would be disrupted by passing through the turbine blades. This is undertaken by consultation with the radio telecommunications industry, including the BBC and the ITC. In the unlikely event of interference occurring after installation, we are committed to restoring reception to pre-development quality to rectify the problem in any household affected. Normally this will entail the reorientation of peoples TV aerials, but in extreme cases an additional TV relay station or satellite receivers can be installed. The unique design of the Enercon turbine, means that the blades are less likely to disrupt signals than other turbine manufactures primarily due to the slow rotation speeds of the blades.
