Do you have to feed Betta fish frozen blood worms or are pellets okay all the time?
You can feed betta pellets all the time. The fish food companies formulate their pellets with the assumption that this is what you are going to be doing, and they do their best to give you a complete diet for your fish. That said, the more variety you can give your fish without overfeeding, the more healthy, the more resilient and the more active your fish will be. Imagine how you’d feel at dinner time if it was meatloaf seven days a week – that one day you got anything else (even if it were just meatloaf with barbecue sauce instead of plain meatloaf) would make that day pretty exciting, eh? Betta like those frozen foods, and they love love love live foods – if you can get even a tiny amount of live brine shrimp, watching them chase and catch them is pretty fun. I used to take frozen adult brine shrimp, thaw them, and load an eye dropper with them. Then I’d squeeze them one at a time into the betta bowl. The betta learned to look for the end of the dropper and wait there for the shrimp
