Do you have to have a license to purchase a .22 rifle in texas?
Doesn’t Benjamin make air-rifles? Anyway, no… you don’t need a license to purchase a rifle in any state of the US. You just have to be 18. In fact, you don’t need a license to buy a handgun in any of the 50 states either, but you do have to be 21 to buy a handgun or handgun-ammunition. However, you don’t have to be 21 to own a handgun. Someone else can give you one as a gift. Of course, you must not be a felon in order to legally buy a firearm. Licenses are only required to buy certain items: fully-automatic weapons, suppresors (aka “silencers”), destructive devices (handgrenades, mortars and such). Licenses are also required in many locales in order to carry a concealed weapon/pistol. Do a search for “Class 2 FFL” if you would like to find out more about Federal Firearms Licenses. These are also needed to ship firearms across state lines (although not needed to transport them yourself).
