Do you know how long supermarkets keep fresh produce before discarding any unsold items?

I worked in produce at a supermarket for a year. There wasn’t a set time period that we would keep things (unless it was something that had a date on it, like salad bags). We would mainly just look at the items, and if they weren’t looking fresh, we would throw them out. I rarely remember throwing broccoli out. Maybe it was because there was so much heavy turnover that it never had time to go bad. Strawberries would get mushy or grow mold.
